Mid Level Programme

Duration: 2 months

The two month long programme covers all the basic techniques with clay and glaze.

Week 1

  • Learn about clay, recycling and wedging 

  • Centering on the Potter’s Wheel

  • Pull Cylinders

 

Week 2

  • Continue to pull cylinders

  • Trimming

 

Week 3-4

  • Pull handles and attach them to trimmed pots

  • Make bowls and trim

Week 5-6

  • Throw lidded jars

  • Start making parts for tea pots and assemble them.

  • Learn to make plates

Week 7

  • Explore one’s own ideas

  • Start bisque firing

 

Week 8

  • Test glaze recipes

  • Glaze firing

Studio Working hours 

  • Classes are held 5 days a week with weekends as offs. 

  • The working hours at the studio is from 10:00 am through 4:00 pm, with an hour for lunch in between.

  • The teacher will be present from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm post which the students will practice on the instruction provided. 

  • Students can utilize the studio beyond the 5 working day and beyond the working hours too, though we would highly encourage everyone to take breathers and not overwork oneself. 


Fees  

  • Fee for this programme is Rs 1,40,000 only. 

  • Participants will be required to make 50% of the payment to confirm their slots as soon as confirmation is made known. It will be first come first serve. 

  • If there is any cancellation for any reason and we are intimated two weeks before the course starts, a refund of 50% from the total fee will be made to the said participant. 

  • The fee will include course fee along with 10 final items that the student can choose at the end of the programme.

  • Any item that the student wants to fire over the 10 pieces will be charged at Rs 500 per kilogram. 

  • Please note that absenteeism will not be compensated.


Accommodation and Meals 
•    There is a 1BHK unit available on sharing basis for two people. 
•    The fee will cover breakfast, lunch and dinner. 
•    Should you choose to stay elsewhere we can connect you to nearby local homestays.
